Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea. She has been at Camp Half-Blood since age 7, when she ran away from home after her father remarried. Her signature weapon is a bronze knife, and she carries a Yankees cap that belonged to her mother which makes her invisible.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan consists of: 1) The Lightning Thief (2005), 2) The Sea of Monsters (2006), 3) The Titan's Curse (2007), 4) The Battle of the Labyrinth (2008), and 5) The Last Olympian (2009). The series was followed by The Heroes of Olympus (five books) and other spin-off series set in the same mythological universe.

Luke Castellan is a son of Hermes who serves as the primary antagonist in much of the original series. He became a villain because he felt abandoned and overlooked by the Olympian gods — particularly his father Hermes. Embittered by years of dangerous quests and feeling that the gods were selfish and uncaring toward their demigod children, he allied with Kronos (the Titan lord) and became his champion in an attempt to overthrow the Olympians.
